Auf „Taking One For The Team“, dem aktuellen Album der kanadischen Rockband Simple Plan, gibt es ein Lied, das mir hin und wieder aus der Seele spricht.
„Singing in the Rain“ mal dieses Bild: In der Zeitung nur schlechte Nachriten, auf der Straße gibt es keinen Menschen mit einem Lächeln um Gesicht, das Auto springt nicht an, die Ex macht per SMS Schluss, ein Sturm zieht auf, laut Wahrsagerin dem Tode geweiht, Erdbeben. Aber egal, davon lasse ich mich nicht runter ziehen. Lieber habe ich ein Lied auf den Lippen und tanze im Regen. Egal, welche Hindernisse das Leben mir in den Weg legt, ich singe im Regen und lebe auf der Überholspur.
Simple Plan können nicht nur Musik machen, sie engagieren sich auch für die gute Sache. Sie haben eine Stiftung gegründet, die jungen Menschen hilft erwachsen zu werden und die Betroffene lebensbedrohlicher Krankheiten und Kinder mit Behinderung unterstützt. Sie glauben, dass die Musik den jungen Menschen hilft Leidenschaft für etwas zu entwickeln und so nicht abzurutschen.
